No 6: 17-SOMETHING
KATIE KERN
Growing older is reminiscing over watercolored
memories we force ourselves to remember
I was two
Picnic chairs
Cupcakes
Pastel sprinkles
The first washed over painting memory I recall
Now you’re sitting on a worn-out brown couch
Of a strangers basement
Laying down next to another 17 something
stranger
You try to remember your watercolored
memories
While keeping up a washed-out teenage
conversation
