We all imagine a great future for ourselves. A large castle filled with endless stairs and big rooms. Some imagine a smaller castle, less ambitious, more humble. Others do not settle with the ordinary and let their imagination lead the way. But when you stop for a moment and think about it, none of that matters. The greatness of your future’s castle is just as fragile as everyone else’s. All the effort building it and making everything perfect just to find out it becomes worthless the moment you touch it and watch it crumble. 

There is no perfect future, your dream castle does not exist. In reality, what we build in our minds is just a fragile sandcastle that we like to disguise as an indestructible fortress. We lie to ourselves because we know safety is the last thing our imaginary castle is going to bring us...

Meanwhile, we keep inhabiting our castle full of fantasies in the shape of sand, trying not to get dragged away by ocean waves in the shape of disappointment.
