No2: WRINKLES

There is something beautiful about aging. I love how my mom can smile with just the wrinkles around her eyes. The lines on her forehead are evidence of years studying and work just to provide me a comfortable life. The scar on her nose is a reminder for me to always wear sunscreen. But her freckles and sunspots tell me to go outside and feel the warmth of the sun. They are a reminder of her leaving the darkness in England behind. Biased, mom hates this photo of herself. I asked her why. She said it’s because she looks so old. But what she doesn’t realize is that she’s perfect. And she is beautiful. And I can’t wait to have as many wrinkle creating moments as her.
