No 7: CHOICE/CHANCE

Let’s play a game…

Choose the correct word and fill in the blank:

Read the text carefully and fill in the missing words (whichever suits best for your personal opinion and your view of life).

I used to think my life was led by _______ (choice/chance), now I realize it is totally a matter of _______ (choice/chance). No doubt whatsoever. Or is it…?

In my short life I’ve had the opportunity of meeting people of all kind, some that think _______ (choice/chance) means nothing, some that think ________ (choice/chance) is everything and some that don’t give a rats ass about anything.

It was an encounter with one particular influential person in my life that led me to question my initial opinion on this matter, he thought his life was completely led by ______ (choice/chance) and honestly when he explained it to me with excellent  and very convincing arguments, all I could think about was how depressing putting _______ (choice/chance) over _______ (choice/chance) must be. Of course then my head started spiraling around the subject with thoughts like, maybe my life would be easier if I just let ______ (choice/chance) lead the way… but I guess there’s no correct answer to that. 

While thinking about this subject some other important questions came to mind, should we be thinking about this? Should we base our whole lives on the unanswerable question of what leads life? Does our opinion even matter?

If you think about it we CHOOSE to believe life is a matter of CHANCE, but CHANCE can have a way of proving if our CHOICE is right or wrong. Right?

Anyways, I don’t want you spiraling with me, I just thought it would be a nice exercise. People are so busy nowadays that everyone forgets to think about life and the meaning of it.
